His research aims to highlight normative issues in the design, development, and use of digital technologies, and to clarify conceptual issues that stand in the way of addressing them through law and other forms of governance. He currently focuses on questions about privacy, online influence, and automated decision-making.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in; background: white; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black;\">He is the Haile Family Early Career Professor and assistant professor in the\u00a0<span style=\"color: black; text-decoration: none; text-underline: none;\">College of Information Sciences &amp; Technology,<\/span>\u00a0research associate in the\u00a0<span style=\"color: black; text-decoration: none; text-underline: none;\">Rock Ethics Institute<\/span>, and affiliated faculty member in the\u00a0<span style=\"color: black; text-decoration: none; text-underline: none;\">Philosophy Department<\/span>\u00a0at\u00a0<span style=\"color: black; text-decoration: none; text-underline: none;\">Penn State University.<\/span> From 2016-18, he was an assistant professor in the\u00a0<span style=\"color: black; text-decoration: none; text-underline: none;\">Philosophy Department<\/span>\u00a0at San Jose State University.
