This paper discusses the unique ethical challenges facing HRI practitioners\u00a0designing robots for these spaces, and proposes a code of ethics for the profession. We argue that\u00a0the affordance of all rights and protections ordinarily assumed in human-human interactions\u00a0apply to human-robot interaction, and discuss various social, legal, and design considerations to\u00a0facilitate this.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www3.nd.edu\/~lriek\/\" target=\"_blank\">Laurel D.
